Fantasy
As I move images from hard drive to hard drive (I am running out of space!), I am coming across some I have forgotten about. Â This one is a merging of two photos and pushed beyond reality. Â I may have already posted this, but I liked it enough to post it (again).
Surprises
Yesterday was a nice day – trip into the San Fernando Valley and then to Glendale and Pasadena with a friend. Â We visited the Norton Simon museum. Â I haven’t been there in ages, and I think the last time I was there was sometime in the last century (doesn’t that sound great?)! Â Walking into the galleries was like meeting up with old friends. Â I caught up with Gauguin and Fragonard, to name a few, and met some new friends, too, like Georges Lacombe.
Others were out in the sculpture garden, Maillot and Moore. Â In between, a strong cup of coffee with pastries and conversation, topped off with dinner and home. Â I’ve forgotten how much of a wonderful experience a great museum can be! Â Oh, we took some photos, too.
New
I have never used Ilford Super XP2 400 film, which is a b&w film developed in C-41, used for color film processing. Â Not SOOC, but pleasing enough with some post. Â Although I was out shooting just to use the film up – to see the results – I did make a few photos I liked.
In the Canyon
This was taken a few weeks ago while out on a hike through the local backcountry. Â Spring is fading away, and wildfires are already beginning to rear their flames. Â The plants here are more lush than they have been in some time – we had a bit of rain!
