A Road Through

The desert seems to be sitting on my doorstep these last several days. Temperatures have been close to 100F, the humidity uncomfortable, and I am spending too much time indoors avoiding the heat. As I have had little time of late for me and what I want to do, I decided to pull out my neglected watercolors. And paint heat! The Ironwood Forest National Monument seemed to be the perfect choice. It’s hot but also full of saguaros and rugged mountains and a delicate light . . . .

Watercolor, Arches Rough 140#, 10×14.
