Another two-color study, this time using Burnt Sienna instead of Burnt Umber, along with the Ultramarine Blue. As an aside, looking up lists of “warm” and “cool” colors, the umber and ultramarine are considered “warm” by some. Beats me, as they sure look icy together. Here, the Burnt Sienna alone or diluted is warm in cast, but moves to dark and cold (in my eye) when combined with the Ultramarine Blue.
Another picture from my excursion into a damp and foggy world (a rarity of late here in SoCal where temperatures have been heinously high). This time, a panorama of about 9 images, cropped and edited a bit. I used the Df and 24-85 lens.
That morning, the fog was very thick, and even around 9:30 a.m. when I took this, the fog was dense. Only later did the sun break through. It was rather eerie to wander alone . . . just a few days from Halloween!
A great way to start the day.
This is a view of the little creek that runs through our neighborhood park. It’s a pleasant place to wander. When I went there this weekend, a border collie was doing what they do best – running and plopping in the water, staying submerged, and then shaking it all out. A family was there, exploring and showing their toddlers the crayfish. (I think the dad was the funniest – a big little boy!) I was enjoying myself, being an audience to it all, while finding new growth, leaves, and viewing a magnificent sky filled with clouds.
I did post in LR and OnOne, using a VSCO preset for Fuji Astia in the final rinse (so to speak.)
Another film image from the 1930s Voigtlander Bessa Rangefinder, using Fuji Pro 400H film. There is an Impressionist painting which keeps flitting across my mind every time I look at this picture – hence the title. I think it is a picture by Renoir, of a lady in a white dress looking around a tree in dappled sunlight . . . .
