Creek, ii

creek-ii

This is a view of the little creek that runs through our neighborhood park.  It’s a pleasant place to wander.  When I went there this weekend, a border collie was doing what they do best – running and plopping in the water, staying submerged, and then shaking it all out.  A family was there, exploring and showing their toddlers the crayfish.  (I think the dad was the funniest – a big little boy!)  I was enjoying myself, being an audience to it all, while finding new growth, leaves, and viewing a magnificent sky filled with clouds.

I did post in LR and OnOne, using a VSCO preset for Fuji Astia in the final rinse (so to speak.)

I Forget About My Phone . . .

Usually, I take my cell phone with me, set so I don’t hear it ring. I bring it for emergencies, not because I want to text friends or take calls or listen to spammers or check my email or the stock market. It’s a practical tool. I forget about it unless there is something I want from it. And I forget that it has a respectable camera on it – the Samsung Galaxy 5 is not a slouch of a camera, and I even have VSCO on it as my primary editor. When I want to, I use it.

Yesterday, out on The Trail for the Blind here in town, early in morning, I was wishing I had my camera with me – so many beautiful things to see in the morning sun. And, as I was looking, hands in pockets (it was only 44F!), the answer to my desires appeared in my hand. Rather magical on a magical morning!

Afternoon Walk

I took a 2-hour walk this afternoon. It feels like the beginning of autumn – a bit cooler – and it looks like autumn, too, because the light is losing its intensity as we move away from the sun. I had my FM2n with me, complete with lens and film, but finished the roll. Since I had the phone, I tried a few. VSCO makes great products, for the phone, and for post in LR or PS!
