Pear season is here! I think that says it all. So many to choose from, but my favorites are Bosc and d’Anjou.
This is the original orientation of Pair and a Half, but rotating it showed me this one looked pretty nice, too.
I sort of like the second one the best. What about you?
Oil on cotton canvas panel, 10×10. Or maybe 12×12?

I like the first one better because it makes my eyes go. up then down, the other one is a down and up for me and my eyes just like up and down best. 😁
What an interesting observation, Fraggy! I would not have thought about a painting quite like that, or observing my own observation. Time for me to take a look . . . .
Yes the first is easier on my eye – maybe the main diagonal goes the way we westerners read a page.
Well, they both look scrumptious to me! But the top painting catches my eye most, maybe because of a bit more reddish hues.
Thanks, tagpipspearl! It’s always fun to see how things look from different turns of the canvas, at least for paintings with no definitive up or down.
Thanks for the input, Graham. The Western thing may be a point in fact why everyone seems to prefer the first.
