Besides Mr. Jolly Orange Feet, there are other wonders to be found at Montana de Oro State Park. We descended into a little cove onto a beach covered with sea detritus. Taking the time to look revealed all sorts of things, from 3 dead birds to sea shells to kelp bladders. The sand, pebbles, and rocks gave a beautiful background to it all.
Taken a bit before sundown. The clouds were beautiful that night. This is a 5-image HDR. I think I took this in the street above the Embarcadero. If I had waited until after 7 pm, I would have been able to get the Rock with the sun setting behind it. Instead, we went out for dinner . . .
The beach north of Morro Rock is wide, flat, expansive, and popular. The late afternoon found the beach still filled with families and kids playing in the water. Definitely a great beach!
Up and down the coast, cormorants may be found perching on various rocks, hanging out until they decide to go out for dinner.
The day was cloudy because of the coastal fog, with subdued colors overall, and brilliant flashes of many of the flowers in bloom.
