I went to the local botanical garden last week and tested out Kodak Ektar 100. This is a great film for outdoors! I used the whole roll in the gardens, and am quite pleased with the colors. And the camera. And the lens. I just need to work a bit more on nailing the focus when I use a wide open lens.
The blooms of different flowers is beginning at the local botanical garden, one of the earliest of which is hummingbird sage.
I always find myself in a quandary about post – how far to go? Sometimes I think of paintings when I do post, and the colors become painterly rather than realistic. Such is the case here – but it doesn’t really bother me because I like the mood so much!
We have been having rain for the last two or three days. Perfect days to go out and take pictures as everything is so clean, and perfect days to just be outdoors to smell the earth and new growth. Where I live, cloudy skies and rain are like hens teeth of late, so any excuse to be outside is welcome! We even had thunder and lighting, which was hard to believe.
