Goody Bag

Goody Bag

While out shooting with the Voigtlander, I was just trying to use film up – I needed to see if there were any light leaks in the bellows.  Light tight!  This was done with Portra 400, and converted to B&W in Nik.

Serendipity

Serendipity

Out on a hike, I was putzing around with the video element of my camera, which I have never mastered as video doesn’t interest me.  Somewhere in the midst of all of the putzing, I took this picture.  The camera was pointed down, toward my feet, and here was the shadow on the dirt road upon which I wandered and putzed.  I rather like the graphic quality here, as well as the textural.

Morning

Morning

I rather liked the detail of this picture, but the detail is not the leaves of the amaryllis, but the bokeh and the crosshatching of the screen.  My studio window faces east, and this is what I saw early in the morning as the sun appeared over the horizon.

I do need to wash my windows and screens!

Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

If you look, you can find old photos taken on huge, bellows cameras of these cliff dwellings as they were discovered.  Many were in terrible shape, and today, through skilled restoration, are in better condition than they were 100 years ago (or more).  In keeping with the old photos, I put together this panorama of Square Tower House.  What I like is that you can see just how nicely it is tucked in under the cliff, and beneath the mesa above.  I think this would be a great place to live – give me that top room! – but the commute might be a bit much for this old lady.
