A reserved spot for seals in the spring, the Carpinteria seal rookery come here every year to breed and raise their pups. It is off limits during this time, but looking down from the cliffs above is a delightful experience. Notice the camouflage – the rough texture of the mussels matches the mottled coloring of the seals.
