Cactus Flowers
I went for a hike up in the local botanical garden this morning, and while I have missed the crazy blooms of the Matilija poppies, I was fortunate to see many other plants showing off their spring colors..
Bonsai
This photo had absolutely nothing to recommend it – the bonsai, focus of the image, did not stand out. Pushing the colors, and blurring the edges, helped to make it at least “okay”. Â Processed in LR4 and Color Efext Pro 2.
Oak Tree
This morning I got up early and hit the trail, all to get the morning sun through the trees. At 7:30 a.m. it was 85 in the shade – by 9:00 it was nearly 100. So glad I went out – it was so beautiful, so quiet and peaceful. This was shot using a vintage lens, a manual Vivitar Series 1, 24-48mm, on a D7000. Some HDR in PP.

My runs take me along trails under the oaks. Evening and morning, the light is lovely.
