Photography is not so much a part of my life these days, but going through my archives reminds me of how much fun I have had with both digital and film.

The Bird of Paradise plant is a wonderful subject. Love this photo.
I did a painting of poppies in a similar light with a dark background. I was pleased with the outcome. The lighting really pulls the eye to the subject.
Such exotic, beautiful flowers! When I visited San Diego, I would make sure to walk through the downtown and business areas just to see the display of Bird of Paradise flowers (Strelitzia reginae).
Thanks, tagpipspearl! I have a love-hate relationship with the Bird of Paradise. The miniature ones are great and easy on the land, but the large ones can wreck property quite easily. I am glad you like them. 🙂
Thanks, Graham! Lighting is always a key in photography and painting, whether strong or subtle.
Thanks, Laura Kate!
