In the past several weeks, airplanes of a certain manufacture have had problems. Faulty door bolts allowed an exit fly off midflight and luckily no one went flying out into the atmosphere. In another incidence, the front wheel of the plane fell off before taking flight. And, apparently, airplanes and jets are not the only large craft with problems – ships, too, can be poorly built and / or designed.
What is this world coming to with such shoddy workmanship?
So funny, but would be more funny if it wasn’t true!
Anne, at first I thought it was real, but it did not seem quite real, if that makes sense. Made me think of Monty Python and the dead parrot skit at first with its terseness. But, in reality, this is a spoof on a real event which happened ca. 1991 off West Australia when a Greek vessel had this experience. Still, funny in its own right.
😀
That was very funny!
On a serious note, my husband’s career was in quality and manufacturing. We recently saw a comment from Elon Musk to the effect that he is the chief engineer of his companies (Tesla, SpaceX), and he is amazed when he comes across CEOs who are not technically familiar with what their companies make. My husband agrees. When the finance guys take over an engineering firm the results can often be sad.
This skit had me thinking about the Exon Valdez years ago. Not funny!
The same with private equity firm taking over companies and medical practices and other health care situations and destroying them . . . not good.
You are right! I forgot about the Exxon Valdez . . . Good call, Anne.
I thought there were two “XXs” in Exxon!! 😁
