Winter in California usually brings rain. So far, nothing. The grassy hills die down to beige and brown, the oak trees are dark spots against the pale grasses. It’s a beauty of its own. Here, the beginning of a sunset casting its warmth on the peaks as the day ends.

You said it all, Naomi, with gouache and with words. Thank you!
That’s lovely, glad to see you paiinting in your own style again 🙂
Thanks, Fraggy. Glad you like it! But I did learn a lot in the process as I looked closely – that helps when looking at the real world to see the subtle things. More practice is a-comin’ up!
Thanks, Fabio!
I love your version best. I just posted about winter in California and came across yours. 🙂
Such a wonderful painting. Well done!
Thanks! Glad you like it!
I am glad you like it. (I do, too!)
