Easier possibly because we do not feel complex to be perfect. If a tree is a bit off in shape, who knows? But with buildings and portraits we have this underlying desire to “make it look like it.” So I agree, rocks and trees are often less pressure.
Thanks, Terry. I like your idea of the “complex as not perfect” – well worded! And, personally, I prefer to paint and draw the world without people, just as I do in photography, but know that buildings and people eventually have to be included, challenging as they may be!
