Yesterday’s post had some lies in it. I thought there were not a lot of seals on the beach. It turns out there are literally tons of them, strewn along the sand and on the rocks themselves, disguising themselves as rocks. Check out the picture below. Fascinating! California beaches often do have rocks, so that slipped right by me!

They always remind me of slugs – probably make an equal mess of your garden, too.
Graham – here in the dry lands of California, slugs are very rare! Rocks are a lot more common. I think I’ve seen about 3 slugs in my entire life. But, agreed – the garden would be a mess.
