The high desert is a place filled with a variety of plants and geological formations. Right now, we are in the 4 Corners area, about 20 miles outside of Durango, Colorado. Here is a plant I found underneath the pinon and juniper trees.
Red is a fab contrast to the greenery. I think also I see some empty silver dollar stems?
The plant was a total surprise in the desert. And, no, these are little plants called “pepper weed” per my sister, and are not even 1/4 inch across. Very, very tiny!
